Socioeconomic Considerations

The MOX Project Office will establish and maintain a sound small business program that fully complies with Public Law 95-507; FAR 52.219-8,"Utilization of Small Business Concerns"; 52.219-9, "Small Business Subcontracting Plan"; all prime contract requirements; and current DOE policies and practices. The following policy statement is shared with all MOX Project Office personnel:

MOX Project is known as a good corporate citizen and recognizes the contributions of small businesses to our local, regional, and national economy. Therefore, it is the policy of MOX Project that opportunities be extended to small, small disadvantaged, and small women-owned businesses. All MOX Project personnel who have a role in the decision process for creating and approving any subcontract awards will be directly responsible for ensuring that our small business goals are obtained.

MOX Project will maintain an aggressive strategy to optimize the use of small, small disadvantaged, and women-owned businesses in contracting opportunities. These small businesses will be encouraged to participate in a wide range of subcontracting activities. MOX Project will establish and maintain an aggressive outreach program to aid all small business concerns to become a partner on the MOX project.
